Emily Salisbury Memorial Scholarship

Emily Salisbury

The Emily Salisbury Memorial Scholarship was founded through a generous donation in honor of Emily, a student facilitator for the 2006 Cougar Excursion (CE) program. Emily was tragically killed in a car accident in 2008.  Emily was a student leader at the College of Charleston. In keeping with her spirit, this scholarship will be given to the applicant who exhibits the strongest leadership qualities.

The Emily Salisbury Memorial Scholarship is open to all students who register for Cougar Excursion. The scholarship recipient(s) selected will have their registration fee to CE covered.  The requirements for the scholarship include a written essay of no more than 400 words on your leadership experiences up until the present time. Comment on how those experiences have impacted you as an individual, and how you hope to use them as you begin your college career.

To be eligible for the scholarship students must submit a written essay of no more than 400 words detailing their past leadership experiences. In the essay students should include how their leadership experiences have impacted them individually, and how they plan to utilize their experiences as they begin their college careers.

To be eligible for a scholarship, please email your essay to Bret Koch at kochb@cofc.edu at your earliest convenience. Applicants will be notified soon after submitting their essay of their award status. Scholarships are limited.
